this is part 2 of the trash-the-dress session with the newly minted mr. & mrs.  {see part 1 here}

it first started out pouring….like buckets. i slightly panicked because i knew janelle was on her way with her hair & make up done beautifully & all i could think of was the scene from the Notebook where they are kissing in the rain & are totally drenched & totally romantic, however, our session would’ve lasted about 2mins at the current rate of the liquid sunshine coming down from the sky. thankfully, it slowed to a light drizzle once we started shooting & then it stopped and the sun broke through the gray clouds & gave some a.mazing light that i couldn’t resist!

at the end janelle insisted that she tromp through a muddle puddle…dress and all! :)

do you remember this lovely couple?

well, after returning from their Hawaiian honeymoon, they dressed back up in their wedding day pretties & we had a “trash the dress” session! it was so incredibly fun.

a session like this is one that is more laid back, care-free & no worries if the dress gets a bit dirty! these sessions are fun to do because it allows I, the photographer, more time with the couple to get some really great shots! plus, i like to have the session shortly after the wedding since they still have lovey eyes for one another! ;)

we managed to dodge a major down pour but still had some sprinkles here and there, & the wind would pick up at the right times, softly blowing janelle’s locks back. it was perfect. speaking of which, huge, HUGE props to Kate for doing a fab job on janelle’s hair & make-up. gah, g o r g e o u s.

ok get ready for part 1 of 2! {i couldn’t narrow it down for posting!}…..

this is one of my favorite shots, janelle, my friend, you are gorgeous!

jeff & janelle, you are such an amazing couple & it shines through in these photographs. i am so honored to be your photographer!

their session was a dream come true. for just about 8 years i had been eyeing this field near our old neck of the woods {this was before we moved north, fyi} & thought it would be the perfect place for a session, but only if the light was just right, etc. and then it hit me, the Monroe’s session would be PERFECT there. & ugh, it was. the light was beyond incredible, my new couch was perfect for it & their outfits hit the ball out of the park! not to mention how insanely adorable this threesome is together. perfect, perfect, perfect!

how utterly squishable is that baby?! ugh! delish.

{new adventure} | personal

life has been a bit crazy for us these past few months.

1.) lots of shoots have been happening! we just wrapped our last wedding of the season & 2.) we moved! yep, we moved north by about 3 hrs. the hubs got a new job & we decided to take this opportunity for a new adventure! so far we are loving our new place. the view from our house is in.cred.ible. every day the sunrise is totally different. which i am loving & so is my camera!

{Jeff + Janelle} MARRIED! part 1| Chehalis, WA. wedding photography

As he glanced across the bar, he spotted her…tall, blonde & gorgeous.  Then one thing lead to another and those two ended up swing dancing the night away, together.

The day began like any other but this time it was just a tad different, one with a different ending. She was going to be at the end the day a Mrs. and that right there was the best feeling in the world. Her face lit up in huge smiles all through out the day while preparing to vow her life to his. The sun was shinning & things were falling into place perfectly.

Jeff & Janelle,

It was such a blessing to be a part of your special day & to capture all the moments.  You made us feel like old friends & we couldn’t happier for your future as husband and wife.

Red Barn Studios was the perfect place for Jeff and Janelle to say their “i do’s” & began their journey as husband and wife. The rustic barn & grounds were paired perfectly with the whimsical touch of peacock feathers and twinkly lights.

The inside of the barn looked amazing. I may or may not have jumped up and down and squeeled a bit in excitement. ;)

Jeff and Janelle chose not to see each other before the ceremony and had allotted plenty of time in their schedule to do some “non-first-look” photos. It gave me goose bumps. You could feel their excitement and anticipation when they grasped on to each other’s hands. It was such a sweet moment.

{Kalea + Jake} save-the-date! | Engagement session

boy meets girl. boy and girl date. boy breaks up with girl. then boy realizes he cannot live without her. works hard to win her back. boy proposes. girl says “yes!” boy & girl are engaged and soon to be married!

the girl is Kaela & she is beautiful & sweet and is also interning with us this year! So if you’ve seen her along on a session or at a wedding, she is learning the ins/outs from us!
