{chelsey + jared} engaged! | Corbett, OR. Wedding photography

The usual Saturday morning breakfast, Chelsey was basking in the luxury of the laziness that comes along with the weekends & was taking her sweet time drinking coffee. The clock struck 11am. She leisurely decided it was time to make breakfast.

Jared says to her, “you make the eggs & I’ll start the bacon.”

Still in her lazy haze, she got out the carton of eggs, opened it up & sitting all snug was all the beautful eggs from their chickens. except for one pink plastic easter egg…..what?! clueless she opened said pink egg. inside was something….something that resembled a ring. wait! a! ring! she turned around and down on one knee in the middle of the kitchen was Jared.

Chelsey couldn’t even look at the ring, just fell to the floor hugged him & cried!

Their engagement session was so. much. fun. A 100+ year old barn, um, yes please!

complete with cows, tons of vintage farm equipment, jared being nervous about kissing in front of me, lovely sunshine & me stepping in. a. cowpie. gross.

luckily this girl came from the country! ha.

Chels & Jared, We are so excited for you two and cannot wait to capture your amazing moments on your wedding day this summer!

chels, your eyes are ridiculous! gorgeous!!

{Steph + Peter} engaged! | Mt. Hood engagement photography

Fate in the form of her brother brought these two together. They knew the first moment they met, that this was something.

Fast forward two years later, New Years Eve Day, they hit the slopes before the rest of the gang, fresh pow abound. A few quick runs wouldn’t hurt while they waited, right? Wrong. Peter went off a jump and. broke. his. leg. & the real kicker here is that Peter had planned on popping the question that night as they rung in the New Year. opps.

He did finally ask for her hand a couple of days later, back up in the snow but instead of skis, he donned a pair of crutches.

For their engagement sesh, we traipsed back up the mountain and found some perfect snowy settings along the Salmon River & in Government Camp. It was absolutely perfect.

an old chair lift? yes, please!

Steph & Peter, we are so excited for your big day this summer! We are so honored that you chose us to capture this amazing time in your lives.

blessings,

k & r

{Codie + Alex} Married! Part 2 | Crystal Ballroom Portland Wedding

Here’s part 2 from Codie & Alex’s big day! If you missed part 1, check it here.

After their first look, we took a few portraits of just them together then met up with the rest of the bridal party.

Codie looked stunning in her Vera Wang dress & the birdcage veil.

How amazing was it that it was a dry, non-rainy or misty day in October?! In Portland. pretty darn amazing.

The ladies wore twist wrap dresses by Dessy & each wore their dress differently.

The gals also clipped custom feather shoe clips to their shoes.

Stay tuned for part 3: the ceremony & party!

{Codie + Alex} MARRIED! part 1 | Crystal Ballroom Portland Wedding

It was a typical, brisk, grey fall day in Portland, Oregon. I don’t think either of us got much sleep the night before. Filled to the brim with excitement, anxiety {for me, I was a bridesmaid AND I was shooting!} restlessness & giddiness. We stayed up in to the wee hours of the night laughing over ridiculous stuff & tears staining our cheeks as I helped my best friend write her vows. The vows she was going to be making to the man of her dreams that very next day.

The Crystal Hotel & the Crystal Ballroom were the perfect back drop for this semi-destination wedding. Codie & Alex’s love story began in the Emerald City where they both moved to from their home towns. Codie’s, Portland. Alex’s Ohio.

The first time I met Alex, I knew. I knew he was the one for her. They way he made her laugh & dished out equal if not more sarcasm to keep in step with hers. The way he looked at her as if she was the most beautiful girl in the world. The way Codie’s eyes would light up as she talked about him. Even the hundreds of hours we logged on the phone talking about if & when he was gonna propose, I just knew.

RJ & I cannot be more happy for you two & feel so honored to share a part of your life story. Congratulations, I love you Codie & I guess now you too Alex! ;)

WARNING: this is gonna be a THREE PARTER people! WAAAAYYYY too many images that I just cannot narrow it down!

PART 1: Getting ready & their first look….

enjoy.

Codie rocked this fab Kate Spade shoes & she looked STUNNING in this Vera Wang.

She wore three different sets of jewels throughout the day. Why not change it up, right?!

She chose to have long zebra pheasant feathers shooting out of her all white bouquet.

Flowers courtesy  of my mother, Karen Ayers.

Alex and the boys wore of their own choosing different styled Chuck Taylor Converse All Stars

Alex awaited his bride in the ballroom for their first look.

This the part where I got so teary that I could barely see through my viewfinder on the camera! Ah, it was such a lovely moment.

PART TWO COMING SOON!

p.s. huge, HUGE shout out to my hubs, RJ & our intern, Kaela for shooting a majority of the day. It wouldn’t have been possible for me to enjoy being a bridesmaid with my bestest gal without knowing you two were there to shoot as well! THANK YOU, you both rock!
